Customer Service at Mathers of Lancashire

Payment

Mathers accept all major credit and debit cards including Visa, Mastercard, Visa Delta and Maestro. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept American Express.

Placing Your Order

The Mathers of Lancashire website is designed to help you through the purchasing process. You can place your order online or over the phone on 01204 522186 at the same great price and we'll email a copy of your order request to you.

By placing your order online or over the phone you agree to the following terms.

Product Availability

All orders are processed and shipped as quickly as possible. In instances where our stock is fully allocated we may ship direct from the manufacturers to you. If for any reason the product you've ordered is no longer available, or there's been a price change, we will notify you within 24 hours.

After Sales Service

At Mathers, we operate a fair and open after-sales service. We firmly believe that setting out our terms clearly rather than burying them in small print is what customers should be able to expect of any business. Everything you need to know about our policy is outlined here.

Over 99% of our orders are handled perfectly - goods are delivered on time and work without fault. However from time to time things do go wrong. Parcels can get misrouted by Royal Mail or Parcel Force, traffic can prevent deliveries arriving on time, manufacturer's specifications can be inaccurate and items can develop a fault. The real test of an online retailer is not just the availability of good value products, but how well they deal with after sales problems. At Mathers we aim to offer a service most other online retailers fail to deliver on: Product availability, value, reliable delivery and a clear and fair after-sales service.

Technical Help

Most of the purchases you make have lifetime technical support directly with the manufacturer. As we sell a vast range of products from many manufacturers it is not possible for us to provide you with the same level of technical expertise as the manufacturers.

In the first instance, you can call 01204 522186 or send us an email and we will do our best to solve your problem.

If you do contact the manufacturer and are unhappy with their service then call 01204 522186 or send us an email and we will do our best to help you solve your problem.

Damaged / Missing Items / Wrong Items

Our aim is to ensure that your order arrives on time and in the same excellent condition it left our warehouse. However, items can get damaged in transit and whilst often it is only the packaging that is damaged, the products themselves are occasionally damaged.

Items also occasionally get misrouted or lost in transit.

If damage is noticed at point of delivery the order can be refused and returned with the driver.

Please report any product damage within 48hrs to ensure that we can fix the issue for you. Product damage reported outside of 48hrs will not be replaced but may be repaired under the terms of the manufacturer warranty.

In order to help us resolve issues arising from these problems, please call 01204 522186 or send us an email within 48 hours of delivery or expected delivery in case of non receipt.

Failed Deliveries

At Mathers we understand that sometimes you will not be available to receive your goods. Royal Mail or Parcel Force will leave you an 'Attempted Delivery' card saying you need to pick up your item from your local delivery office or arrange a redelivery. If in doubt please call 01204 522186 or send us an email and we will do our best to solve your problem.

Cancellations

If you change your mind after placing your order you can cancel at any time before the goods are despatched, regardless of the reason. There is no cost for cancelling your order before despatch.

Faults occurring within 28 Days of receipt: If any of our products develop a fault within the first 28 days we will be happy to help you resolve the issue. Your statutory rights may allow refunds in specific instances, please call us if you need advice.

Faults occurring within 1 year: If you've had the product for up to 1 year and require a fault repair, your product will be repaired directly by the manufacturer. If that's not possible, we will give you a replacement, or if that's not possible, a refund.

Faults Occurring After 1 year but within manufacturer's warranty period: Please contact us and we will arrange any repairs required.

Faults Occurring Outside Manufacturer's warranty period: As an additional service we are able to quote on repairs.

This does not affect your statutory rights.

Please contact us for more details.

Please note, some manufacturers include a warranty registration form in the box - don't forget to complete this and send it off within the specified time period.

Recycling - WEEE policy

Recycle your batteries

Batteries contain heavy metals and other dangerous chemicals, they should not just be thrown away as this will cause pollution. You can now bring your waste portable batteries to Mathers' store to be recycled. Just put them in our collection box in store and we will ensure that they are recycled in a responsible manner. (Excludes industrial and automotive batteries).

Recycling cameras and electronic products - what you need to know

On 1 July 2007, new government regulations called the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations came into force to hopefully encourage people to arrange collection or recycling of old electrical products, rather than throwing them away.

Mathers Cameras offer free in store take back which means if you buy an item in our store the customer has 28 days in which to return the old item to us, and we will recycle it.

If the item was purchased on-line or via our mail order service, the customer is responsible for any postage costs incurred, in returning goods to us.

Wherever practical, old electrical waste should not be disposed of with your household waste. You can locate your closest participating collection site at www.recycle-more.co.uk (please remember to have your postcode to hand).

Electrical goods can be recycled if they carry a crossed-out wheelie bin sign and all new electrical products now carry this sign. Items with the crossed-out bin, must not be put in household rubbish.

The products that are sent to us for recycling are either sent back to the manufacturer, sent to the local recycling plant or sent for spare parts to camera repair centres.
